ESPACE is composed of three modules: INFEED MODULE: designed to allow rapid insertion of the booklet and ensure exact positioning under the stapler heads. STAPLER MODULE: based on the GALAXIA art. 0660 model, equipped with four moving heads, adjustable from a minimum head-to-head distance of 55 mm. to a maximum of 320 mm. between the two outer heads. Each individual head can be loaded with up to 400 staples. The GALAXIA head is extremely versatile: using a specific kit (optional) it can operate using the entire range of commercial staples (omega – 24 – 50 – 50.30), so that two types of staples can be used simultaneously, for example two flat and two omega series, on a single booklet. The solid construction of the stapler unit also makes it possible to handle thicknesses ranging from one thin sheet to a maximum of 27 mm. The machine is equipped with automatic clenchers which efficiently close the staples and ensure the accurate finishing of the stapled booklet and block. OUTFEED MODULE: compact and easy to install, this unit quickly and neatly collects and stacks the stapled booklets in succession. In-feed of the ESPACE is manual, whereas feed through in the stapler and out-feed module is automatic. ESPACE is microprocessor controlled, allowing adjustments of in-feed and out-feed rates to suit the format and type of printed matter. The machine computer has a copy counter function, and a warning signal is generated automatically when the supply of staples is running low, so that they will not run out on the individual heads. Also provided with the machine is a table, quickly and easily assembled or disassembled, for stapling blocks up to 27 mm. thick.
